CAR
The Geelong racetrack is reached after an easy 45 km drive from Melbourne CBD along the Princes Highway in freeway conditions.
Continue on the Princes Hwy (M1) into Geelong until you see Kardinia Park (Geelong Football Stadium) on your LHS. The first major road past the park/stadium is Fyans Road. Take a left at Fyans Road and follow it until you cross a railway line (see further directions below)
If you divert to the CBD of Geelong, take Moorabool Street (away from the Bay), after about 2 km you will pass the very obvious and impressive Geelong Football Stadium (on your RHS), and take a left at the next main intersection, Fyans Road.
About 2km along this road you will cross over a railway line and wiggle around a roundabout - now look to your front/right for Breakwater Road (Geelong Showgrounds are evident ahead/right). The course entrance is easily found on the LHS after 600m
Take Breakwater Road (with the Showgrounds on your left) for 0.5 km and the racetrack is soon seen on your LHS

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
Geelong is Victoria's second largest city and offers a diverse range of food, wine, cultural and recreation attractions and colonial history. A waterfront city, it is also the major gateway to the Bellarine Peninsula and Great Ocean Road.
Geelong takes full advantage of its unique north-facing bay with fabulous waterfront eateries, landscaped gardens and walking paths set against the backdrop of Corio Bay. Stroll past the sculptured bollards dotted along the foreshore that chronicle characters from the city's past and present, including dapper young ladies in neck-to-knee bathing costumes, 1930s lifesavers, traditional Aussie families, a Geelong footballer, jaunty sailors, fishermen and a town band. Close by is Eastern Beach, which features an art deco-style pool, promenade complex and the restored pavilion that houses a pleasant restaurant, cafe and kiosk.
