With the Club now conducting just one race meeting each year, there are few Club social functions apart from this event.
The Club's racing activity revolves around the annual Centrebet Ballan Cup and Cornerstone Stud Rosebowl meeting. This attracts excellent crowds who are distributed among the public areas, groups under market umbrellas or marquees, and many in the formal dining room.
Some larger social groups use the Dual Choice or the St Albans Rooms on the course which have self-contained facilities such as a bar, TV screens, and TAB.
Being conducted during the Spring Racing Carnival at Flemington, the Ballan Cup meeting at Geelong offers racegoers all the fun and excitement of a great social day out without the cost, the crowds or the crush of the Melbourne meeting. The day coincides with the last day of Flemington's Sprong Carnival featuring the Emirates Stakes and the Patinack Farm Classic
On-course features include live music with a wandering Jazz band, promotions such as Fashions on the Field, free children's activities and a relaxed sense of good fun. A large infield screen gives all attendees a great view of races at major tracks on the day.
